PokerStars Rakeback

PokerStar has no system for direct rakeback. Their VIP system is essentially a rakeback system if used correctly. Players earn VIP Player Points (VPPs) which generate Frequent Player Points (FPPs). The rate of FPPs earned per VPP is contingent on a player’s VIP level. The entire system of indirect rakeback is called the VIP Club. FPPs are the currency of the special VIP Store offering clothes, cash bonuses, tournament tickets, and even food. PokerStars is one of the top Money Poker Sites, and you can not earn FPPs with play money.

The VPP is the central player in the PokerStars Rakeback system. To earn VPPs, players must play in real money cash games and tournaments. VPPs in cash games are awarded according to the number of seats at the table. Six VPPs per $1 in rake is the rate at full-ring tables. With six seats or less at the table, VPPs are awarded at a rate of 5.5 VPPs per $1 in rake. VPPs are earned collectively at the table then are split evenly amongst all players in the hand. At a six-max table with five players, $1 in rake earns 5.5 total VPPs which calculates to 1.1 VPPs per player, for example. Tournament players earn 5.5 VPPs for every $1 paid in tournament fees.

VIP Player Points are used to climb the VIP Level ladder. A minimum number of VPPs per month or year must be earned to reach the upper tiers of the VIP ladder. SilverStar, GoldStar, and PlatinumStar require 750, 3,000, and 7,500 VPPs per month, respectively. The yearly tiers include Supernova which takes 100,000 VPPs in a year to earn and Supernova Elite which requires 1,000,000 VPPs to earn.

The rates at which Frequent Player Points are earned depend on a player’s VIP Level. Earning FPPs comes with earning VPPs. The FPP Multiplier is a way to calculate the number of FPPs earned per VPP for each VIP Level. SilverStars, GoldStars, and PlatinumStars earn 1.5, 2, and 2.5 FPPs per VPP, respectively. At Supernova, 3.5 FPPs are earned per VPP and Supernova Elites earn 5 FPPs per VPP.

Players can buy cash bonuses, clothing, tournament tickets, and other items at the VIP Store using their FPPs. Poker Stars offers an interesting feature termed “concierge service” which is only available to Supernovas. To use the concierge service, players buy an item locally worth $500 or more and send Poker Stars.com an image of the receipt. Poker Stars will then deduct the players FPP balance and credit their bonus account with the amount on the receipt. Cash bonuses from a $50 VIP Reward PokerStars Bonus for SilverStars to a $4,000 VIP Reward Bonus for Supernovas is also available at the VIP Store. It costs 250,000 FPPs for the $4,000 VIP Reward Bonus which calculates to each FPP being worth $0.016. This same rate is used at the concierge service. There are other items to choose from at the VIP Store that are worth while. A Porsche Cayman S is available for players with 3,000,000 FPPs. Other items are tournament tickets, poker books and DVDs, electronics, clothing, and even a cookie basket! It is hard not to find something that interests you in such an amazing VIP Store.
